St Patrick's student Azri Mortimer was diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyopathy in December 2016 and told she needed a new heart within 12 months. After 14 months, her family was starting to lose hope.
On the 22nd of February, Arzi went into intensivecare at Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital - “She was getting extremely sick,” her mother said. “I didn’t think we were going to come out. “She had been sleeping for five days.
At 1am that night, the hospital’s heart co-ordinator came to see her mother. They had found a donor heart and an hour later Azri was on the operating table to undergo a heart transplant.
“I now have my daughter back. It was a total miracle.”
Azri is now undergoing physiotherapy at the hospital and was released from care on Monday morning.

Stella and Allan represented Australia with pride, competing 2 amazing acrobatic routines at World Championships in Guimarães, Portugal. They competed against the best of the best from 32 countries across the world. Stella was very happy with their performances which placed them as reserves for finals. This competition has been a wonderful experience for them. They achieved their goal of representing their country on the world stage at we couldn’t be more proud of them. In between competing, Stella has enjoyed exploring the beautiful city of Guimarães, a charming medieval city which is known as the birthplace of Portugal.

Elite acrobats Stella and Allan, have been selected to represent Australia at the 2024 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Age Group Championships, held in Guimarães, Portugal. The pair will also be representing Australia at the Maia Acrobatic International Cup in Maia, Portugal. Both international events are fully self funded.
