On the 10th April, smiling faces were abound as Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students took to the athletic field to show their running skills in the St Patrick’s Cross Country Fun Run.
Children in K-2 had been learning about core athletic, gross motor skills in their PDH lessons for the last three weeks. They then took to the turf to apply these skills in their Fun Run.
With so much emphasis on childhood obesity in the 21st media, it was a great way for the children to get on their feet and improve on their physical fitness. Not only is this a great reason for the fun run, but having a go with their friends and peers also has started to develop a life-long love of sport and teamwork.
We appreciate the parents/carers who took time out of their busy schedules to either help out with the running of the event or just to watch their children partake on this sunny afternoon of physical fun.
